In Nova Scotia ( Truro NS specifically) would Multiplex rental units be taxed at the residential tax rate or the commercial tax rate?

If you are willing, I think you will widen your aperture of markets if you are willing to drive an additional hour from the NOVA region.

You'll also save the VA funding fee.Not sure why the same city matters, but I'm no VA loan expert.

For Nova Scotia, the province maintains a database that contains all kinds of info on every property. it's called Property Online https://novascotia.ca/sns/acce... it's pretty pricey but will get you the owners information.Another alternative to save time but cost more is going to a lawyer or surveyor with your list and asking them to search the addresses on POL for you. 

I don’t plan on living in this home, so no VA loan.
