The best we can do is make ourselves available, and engage our kids' minds in our endeavors as much as possible.Instead of trying to make your kids into RE investors like yourselves, teach them the concepts of pursuing passions, setting goals, and making deliberate choices to attain those goals.

Included should be historical considerations as part of your deliberation, especially the lessons learned.Approximately every 10 years since the 1960s, there have been ups and downs in the real estate market.

That does not mean they are deliberately trying to over-price a property as so many posters without even the knowledge of who you are dealing with want to suggest.

I wouldn't deliberately push a good tenant away but my terms are my terms.  

I can't say that I've had any as extreme as you described (I've had holes punched in doors and walls, doors kicked in, graffiti on interior walls, deliberately broken fixtures - but not all of those all in one place from one tenant).That damage is sort of like the "going postal" stuff in the workplace.

I'll have to make sure I am more deliberate about reconnecting with the others who might fall off the radar.
