When I finally walked into the title company and got a check for more money than I had made for my entire life combined, it was more about the relief from finally being done with it than a celebration of achievement.

Is there a strong culture of internal competition here?

(Not much, small hick town) This city is striving for modernization, but unable to reach it because of one to many rednecks.I live in south Florida, where modernization/ culture are keen.

I would rather not get into details, as there seems to be a culture of no hear,speak,see.

It is also a cultural center, with concerts all the time it seems.
