I found myself a few blocks from my courthouse (or more accurately, our public research room) a few days ago, and decided that since I'm trying to confront my fears, my inexperience, and do something (anything), I wandered on it and asked to look at the list of NODs.

See if they are a note holder.Call the funeral director and ask who is taking care of the estate.....so far you are not talking with the family.Now, knowing there is an estate and a note, contact the trustee or exectutor(trix) to see if the estate will be liquidating assets or the note.I always try to stay away from family as that is the last thing they want to confront in that immediate term, but who ever is making funeral arrangements or did make them will probably be facing the business side of the estate.

I have cleaned out eviction units, filed court papers, been threatened by tenants, cleaned ductwork, replaced faucets and power outlets, ceiling fans , woken up at 1am dealing with drunk tenants on the phone etc etc etc.When I confronted him last night he made the statement that "one unit has had no trouble/I've had to spend no time there" which is true --but other units have consumed MORE time so it evens out--as long as I am paid.

Many people don't like any kind of confrontation or disagreement, so they use an advisor (attorney, accountant,banker, etc.) as an excuse to not agree to a deal they are uncomfortable with.
