I turned it on and it's basically spraying water all along the ridge of the bath tub ( the caulked area between the tile and bath tub).

Once we started breaking things up I found 6" of concrete base under the tile, and rotting joists from a combination of a leaking bathtub, termites, and water coming in from a vent in the crawl area under the house.

This clogs sewers downstream of the lavatory and you get water through the bathtub.

People without care in the bathtub could do it.

A few months ago, I received a call from Unit 1 stating that they were getting backup in their bathtub and bathroom sink.

Some of it is pretty obvious landlord negligence (think, dripping bathtub faucet for so long the tub is turning blue).

If the septic is above ground, there may be a vent pipe that could also smell.If the tank hasn't been pumped I would expect sewage to back up into the lowest drain in the house, probably a bathtub drain.If you find out where it's coming from, please let us know.thanks,Scott
