The wood harvested back then was much denser from older more mature trees. if you are saying balloon framing is better than new construction I think you should demolish a few hundred houses like I did my friend Never heard of balloon framing until now, I looked it up, it’s not good, but what John said about 50s and 60s builds in Central Texas is very true, the wood inside these homes are way better than what’s available today.
