This may help.... http://www.courts.ca.gov/1288.htm Some of the veterans may be able to provide better answers from personal experience but IMO, the 3 Day or Quit notice taped to the front door and photographed for your file is a good tool to get someone's attention.

Just as you could "repair" walls that have 100 Gigantic holes by placing cheap paneling over the holes, you could also repair it correctly with taped, textured and painted drywall/sheetrock.

I want to take out my tape recorder and describe the scene here and what's about to happen.

I was about broke, and it was junky, had to duct tape the windows shut. 

I don't mean it has to be fancy or anything like that, but if it is filthy inside and out, bumper held on with duct tape, is overflowing with trash, disgaurded fast food wrappers, etc., you'll then know how your rental unit would look after a year with them.I'm all for checking out public sites on social media ... but I wouldn't ask to "friend" them :)
