What are they hiding that they need to pay the first year up front? 

You can also do check ups, you can't hide the smell IMO, and another obvious thing is to move a picture-- you can't hide damages.

But people who are not forthcoming in the application generally are not my preference -they are self acknowledging that they have things to hide.

Not getting into tactics over this matter, just saying most investors run and hide doing Sub-2 deals.

You are hiding both your name and face, are you not?

NOTE:  Before anyone gets all huffy about what I just wrote, let me add that when I said this, all the men pointed to their "others" and those "others" sunk in their seats trying to hide.5 - If you don't put it (#4) in, you'll pay for it for the rest of your life.  

If this rehab project goes sideways, over budget, over time, are they going to bury their head in the sand and hide from the problem, or are they going to step up, communicate to you as the lender that there are issues, and then take ownership of their mistakes. 

Hopefully we'll be able to aid in accelerating the growth, but I'm just glad it's a conversation we're having right now instead of hiding behind "investor protection" and draconian government policies.  

Most likely there is something they are hiding.
