He'd rather buy a 1000 SF house for $300k than a 2000 SF house for $400k and rent out half for like $1500/mo (the majority of the mortgage payment).The whole mindset is really strange to me given that we're renting a condo apartment in a large complex and he was renting in an apartment complex 2 year prior to that.
