@Chris DaIt's so obvious that the SSDI is being milked, at least here in Florida...this time it was the child who was on it but normally the profile seems to be a single mother under 35 or 40 with at least two kids, from what I've seen.I have a tenant with a real disability who collects, and a friend who's on SSDI, food stamps, etc., so I get the legitimate side of it too, but you'd have to be blind to see what's going on.

Do not believe tenant stories.Let them know the eviction filing gets filed regardless and if they can pay full rent and eviction fees before the time the Marshall comes then you are not obligated but might consider halting the eviction. This keeps the tenant honest when they say they will have the money instead of trying to milk you for a few months or weeks time and then saying the money didn't come through. You have what sounds like a holdover tenant situation. No legal advice.

And frankly, there are some much more expensive homes in this established and attractive neighborhood.I wouldn't, under normal circumstances, consider selling it at this time because homes in this area are appreciating pretty rapidly and I'm the kind of guy who would prefer to milk this for as much as I can get of it.
