Considering airbnb's downtown, long term rentals in up and coming areas near burns park, fixer uppers...pretty much anything except student housing - that feels hard!  

A lot of people seized the opportunity with students because of the medical school but that area is now saturated with over priced student dwellings.There is still a market for STR geared towards tourists but the competition has increased on the tiny island. 

For example:Tenant Demographics: If your target market includes younger professionals or students, they may be more forgiving of the lack of central AC if the rent is priced accordingly.

And I had stopped working on those about a year ago when I made the transition over to Full View.I/we have no mortgages, no car loans, no student loans, and a credit card we pay off monthly.I'm just looking to figure out how big of an issue it is that I am not keeping a monthly personal financial statement should I seek a loan?

Hello,My buddy and I are considering purchasing a house with the intention of renting it to SUNY Cortland students.

A combination of lack of infrastructure partnered with historic highs in population growth specifically in new international students pouring into the area to attend Cape Breton University, has presented less then a 1% vacancy rate on the island. 

We have the added complexity of student rentals that locals would like to outlaw.

Elizabeth, I've kicked around the idea of student housing in locations near where my sons are currently going to school. 

Most college students (even grad students) are used to living in condos/townhomes with roommates & you can even get plugged into the university's "off-campus" housing list to market your rental.
