They can co-exist.

In my personal opinion, what's best for the family unit is harmony and unity, regardless of foregone profits.

(I was previously under the impression they'd always have to refinance out of their previous o-o loan into investment loans once they moved and applied for a new o-o mortgage).Does anyone out there have more than 3x co-existing owner-occupier mortgages?...

You certainly need to do the best you can to maintain neighborhood harmony, but you are not legally (or physically) in a position to judge what is and is not a viable noise complaint.
