My bias is against it and in a big way, but you can find posted examples of people finding it useful.i have never heard of a newbie and/or person with limited funds do well out of any of these things...you may hear differently just speaking from personal observation.You could take $1000 of that money and buy a lot of successful investors coffee and lunch and ask them to tell stories.

I am a little biased but these areas are hidden gems.

Looks like Detroit is a pretty popular answer here...at the risk of being redundant...I'll jump on the bandwagon..In Detroit's defense, it is consistently ranked the #1 cash flow market in the country, so it's kinda inevitable.I'm pretty biased towards Metro Detroit for obvious reasons lol.

I didn't go to college so I may be biased, but I can honestly say that I don't see how it would be relevant to the skills needed for investing/sales.

So I have a Bias of course but I believe its going to explode.. not as cold as Spokane , closer to Seattle  Leavenworth , Lake Chelan and access up to Lake Okanagon and Kelowna..

I may be biased, but this area offers a great life for its residents.

Hello California landlords and investors, I came across this post on reddit discussing issues with tenant biased laws in California and lots of the comments seem to suggest that investing or being a landlord in California is very difficult and potentially a hassle/litigious/costly in case of issues. 

@Sino Usmonov I am certainly biased but I think there is a lot of value in investing in your own back yard.

Protected class means gender, race, familial status, color, religion, national origin, or disability.
