If not and you wrote them the check, then most likely the $ is gone and suing for that money will cost you more than $1000 unfortunately.So cancel the agreement and request the funds

No one has x-ray vision to see inside walls or underground, so you should have 10-20% in contingency funds just in case. 

Get some gift funds to help with the down payment if you can.

Large deposits are nice, but very difficult to actually get access to escrow funds in the event of default.

From 9/9 to 9/18, I struggled to get to funding with them.

Hi Lenders, currently in the market for a cash flow management tool to help organize payoffs and broker commissions to get a better understanding of how many more loans I can fund on a given month.

They are often located in desirable neighborhoods and are close to good schools.

While I do maintain a relatively modest percentage of my assets in money market instruments, corporate debt funds, and high dividend stocks, I remain most comfortable with the investments I specialize in and know best.  

I financed this property using down payment funds from 403B and a local commercial bank.
