I realized that my property management contract states that I'm paid 20% of gross revenue, but in fact, I pay the cleaners their fee first (I mark it up a little on my OTA to factor for platform fees) and then I take my 20% out of the remaining balance.

Often times there is a significant amount of vacation rental infrastructure in place (cleaners, handymen etc.) but you can still easily stand out and have a killer place.

Optimized doesn't just mean your digital environment, but all the basics like making sure the rooms look photogenic and have an Instagrammable moment, having backups off all bedding and replaceable items so your property always looks like the pictures, setting up strategic partnerships with local businesses, tour guides, etc...As far as management - make sure to have a handful of cleaners and contractors on good terms.
