Post the fraud wire transfer, I filed a report with the FBI and the local police.

Had to call 911 and EMT, police and fire departments responded. 

He used to manage 70+ properties while working full time as a police detective.

The house has been vacant for a year and a half who knows what else you find (cracked foundation, drugs, look up police acitivity in the area) but if the house gets worse and is condemed by the city for being a hazard to the community he will get basically nothing for it.

Hi, I inherited a 1 family home, where I had been living for more than 10 years, I did not pay rent prior to inheriting, continued to live in after inheriting, no interruption.Got the deed 1.5 years ago after probate procedures , but inherited it 3years ago as a matter of state law the title of the property passes on to the heir upon the descendent’s death.For the last two years it has been owner occupied rental 50% of the property several rooms, it is a small mansion.

Did you report this incident to the police?

The police said nothing can be done. 

We have an understaffed, underfunded and possibly undertrained police force. 

We have the modesty police here, after all.

I’m a police officer so I have the pleasure of hearing things like that almost daily.
