I find that before no time at all, I end up with numerous web browser tabs open--sometimes telling myself-- "oh, I need to come back to this and really dig into this info... but at the moment, I'm following other info down numerous rabbit holes."

I have same issue on my iPhone, I will have a browser open on the site and if I let phone go into sleep mode I have to log back in.  

You can do it on your desktop and mobile browsers, though.

My access seems to be forbidden from using every browser and service provider.  

yes i agree @Matthew A Rodriguez I personally don't like going on the browser on my phone so I normally am only on BP if I am home or somewhere with my macbook.

#1 - this feature does not work with all browsers, so maybe you are using a browser that isn't supporting this feature.#2 - when you make a mistake typing after the @, or forget to type the @ by itself to start (it has to have a blank space after the @), it doesn't seem to work.
