The prices the meth remediation companies quote you are legit to get the meth residue levels on exposed surfaces in the main living area below the legal limit and get the house un-condemned, but if you do a bunch of remodeling afterwards that involves cutting down walls, cutting holes in the ceiling, sanding through previous layers of paint, etc., you might be re-releasing residue in the process.Also, it is a very wet process that is likely to cause bubbling on paint, vinyl flooring, cabinets, etc., and any porous material will need to get thrown out (carpet, curtains, etc.).

It wasn’t even latex but water paint which it’s pretty easy to remove from any surface I had some on my car from the same day and I was able to remove it easily.

Priming is typically only necessary if you are using a clear base with a deep hue color, these don't provide good hide, so a primed surface is important.

Wait for it to cure, then sand it down with heavier grit sandpaper until you are close to flush with the surface, then switch to wet/dry sandpaper in progressive grits to about 2000 grit.
