update: I ended up buying a queen sofa bed from a local hotel liquidation store.The brand is Kellex Seating with Zen sleeper.

I've lived in Queens New York my entire life and ideally would love to remain here, but I was considering if it would be a good idea to start off in a less competitive market to get my feet wet and possibly come back when i get some experience.

@Elizabeth Wilson has flipping experience, while I am just a buy-and-hold guy for now, but as a lifelong Memphian, I would point out that Memphis is not known for appreciation.

Findlay, Plum, West Deer are three of the largest, although there are still tiny ones like West Elizabeth, Pitcairn, and Bradford Woods out there.

I don’t deal with pre-foreclosures in Queen, NY.

An hour from Midtown can get you to a lot of places in Queens, The Bronx and even Nassau County or NJ.

I'm tired of paying high rent and considering starting to check some places in Queens, which I think is a little more stable and rational in terms of price, even though it'll be less and slower appreciation.
