Hi guys, I asked this question on general investing forum but think this is more suited to my specific query.RE: I am a Canadian citizen with permanent residence in Mexico.I've been investing in real estate in the state of Yucatan (the safest state in Mexico) for the last 1.5 years and have learned alot.. so far I've invested exclusively in presales and a land purchase, one property was an oceanside condo that will be delivered in June, it's currently up around 35% in value (great!)

It's important to note that permanent/long term financing for investment properties will be especially difficult to procure and if you're able to find a lender, then I would expect for your deal to be highly scrutinized as well as your creditworthiness.

I was coming off of years as a consultant and settling into a permanent job so I really didn't look to the investors market or too much of the standard of living - there were no plans of really staying - now 15 years later.....I know someone who bought in Carol Estates back in March this year for $60k and has not sold it yet.

@Sebastien HitierInvest anywhere only for tax reasons indeed makes no sense, unless you invest to get permanent or tax residence in a given country.And yes, I think Nomad Capitalist is more about taxes, wealth preservation and expatriation than it is about real estate investing for profit.Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai: these are places where most people here don't have enough money to invest.
