It's a way to keep track of rental expenses, income, model and serial numbers of appliances/tools, notes from inspections, vehicle mileage and fuel costs and lots more. 

This is an over-simplified explanation, but maps cannot show what is really happening on the ground.The growth in pricing is fueled primarily by investors.

Or where you invest your time, energy, efforts, paper, fuel, etc. to get lists from say a City source like several mentioned above don't include equity.  

In my experience, most of the "wholesalers" I run across send a few postcards, hang some plastic trash on telephone poles that neighbors have to clean up eventually, and offer way too much money on a property then call you up and say they've got a "deal" for you.

The man is worshipped by many but 99% of that crowd is very early into their financial life, have limited financial education, are at the lower end of the net worth totem pole, are quite naïve about finance in general.
