Inflation is draining it from the bottom, and at the same time you are drinking it from the top.

Plus it is just so easy to go to work five days a week 9-5, but lets be honest with breaks, lunch, talking over the water cooler, texting, leaving just 20 min early ect that 40 hr work week gets necked down to sub 30 real quick. the rest of your time you can enjoy doing what you like, going out on a boat, drinking beer, watching The Voice, reading your mystery novels. 

So if your office is in NYC and you have started to live a 'retired' life in Florida or the Bahamas staring at the sunset and drinking tequila and putting all that on social media as a brag, good luck to you.

. :-)  One can only eat, drink, drive, smoke, snort :-0 , or build a certain amount in a lifetime.

Stop hanging out with your deadbeat buddies that spend all day drinking, talking sports, and otherwise wasting away.

FYI, "financial independence" for us means I can choose to work a W-2 job or not, but really gives us the flexibility in our life to do whatever we want, and it doesn't mean sitting on a beach drinking margaritas every day!  

I'll call you when I know the actual days I'll be there and I hope to have a couple drinks :) I'm looking forward to putting our heads together.I use trello with my teams.  

But I am not a full convert drinking the cool aid as yet. 

But right after moving in (~3 weeks ago), he began drinking to excess, and has already been taken to detox once via ambulance once.

I would imagine there are  people saving well over $100 / week because they can't go out and spend money on drinks/ restaurants, sports events ( $12 beer anyone?
