Even if someone breaks into your house, it is more likely the weapon will be stolen or used against you, than it is likely you will use it to defend yourself.I am not sure any of this matters relative to the original post, but interesting none the less.

At first I found myself pleading/defending my case all the time.

After being served the unlawful detainer, the defendant has 5 days to answer or the judge will award the landlord a default judgment.

Would actually defend your case even more when talking about consumer debt.However, it would hurt your argument about median income comparisons.The best metric is probably comparing Median income/median home price ratios.
