The real problem for me is that when I go to sue, I feel like I actually need his address when I put him down as the defendant, at the very least so that the sheriff could serve him.

Even if someone breaks into your house, it is more likely the weapon will be stolen or used against you, than it is likely you will use it to defend yourself.I am not sure any of this matters relative to the original post, but interesting none the less.
