If you’re only requiring them to pass HUDS standards then your bar is low.

You'll find the bar has been raised considerably, especially since more and more STR hosts have pivoted to the MTR space with their properties.

Barring an unexpected flood of housing being brought to market, I do not see a scenario where supply and demand will balance out.

I have since negotiated the down payment down to 15% at the same low interest rate so barring any major storm damage in the next couple of years I should have a good equity position once the light rehab is complete and won’t have an issue refinancing out.
