If you have 800k-1M cash or at least half cash half line of credit, then you can actually have a real business with a chance of scalability, a minimum income net of 5-10k.

I did not feel they would have good resale nor did they look scalable.

It sounds nice on paper saying you want to "maximize cashflow" but establishing that as a practice is not scalable since you're adding to the plate of things you need to manage which ultimately limits how much you can grow.

Freedom comes from the scalability and/or the sale of a profitable business. 

I think the learning curve is pretty steep on the first property and its better to take it slow, manage it well, implement systems to "perfect" the first one so that its easily scalable to a lot of others.

I think the keywords here are "conventional loan" which may be attributed to this limited belief that SFHs aren't scalable.

I personally don't think it's scalable to be doing all those things yourself.

Social media is much more scalable.
