I own a 4 bed 2 bath pool house as a STR on Airbnb and it would lease for $1300 a month and my loan payment is just under $1200 month so the cost to operate as a leased unit versus owning is about the same on a month to month basis.  

My STR on the Oregon Coast probably is off about $1000 for the year from AirDNA and actual income.

But I'd like to build a directing booking site and put my STR on that as well.

I am about to close on a house hack, and that one will require some initial setup efforts because that one will be a STR on Airbnb.

Ideally, I would want to own a property and house hack or just do an STR on it.

Planning on buying 1 long term multi-unit rental & living at a 2nd property with an STR on site. 

@Shannon Green We have a single family STR on South Padre and is has performed really well. 

My in-laws have a 3/2 SFR STR on Palma Sola boulevard that brought in 91k in nightly revenue in the past 365.

If you want strictly theme park business than there are several great STR only communities to recommend.

Also, I have my STR on Airbnb and VRBO.
