Simply put the concept of live in one unit rent out the other is not a strategy, there is much more to successfully house hacking in NJ.

If you are focusing more on turnkey's then I'd suggest partnering with one of the investment companies so you can buy a property that's been completely renovated and that has a resident already in place.

A lot of smaller banks will do this.If there is not a Four Plex in your area, start educating yourself on how to build one.
