I know learning about how to invest in real estate is a lifelong journey, but I was wondering if you guys think going the route of buying a quadruplex and house hacking it would be a smart way to go when I graduate from college?

Recent events have pressed more of a NEED than a WANT- looking to get my brother-in-law into a flip or BRRRR-type property for a few reasons: 1) Get a young single father an alternative living arrangement to current situation 2) Allow him to pay down debt 3) Get him interested in real estate investing for lifelong financial benefit.

On a personal note, I've found that developing curiosity as a lifelong habit has made for a pretty fulfilling life, both in and outside of investing. 

They are directly responsible for the soldiers and making sure they fulfill the agreements made, especially for housing.

I may be misreading this, but from my experience of human nature and working with teenagers, if you see this young man as a "punk" or "jerk" and treat him like one, he'll fulfill that role.

Given that I will be considered self-employed and will initially not have income (or at least not income that is steady or predictable), I will be having my parents co-sign the FHA loan to fulfill the income requirements.I clearly have sufficient capital to not only fund a 3.5% down investment, but to also make the subsequent mortgage payments.
