In general, the major brokerages are somewhat greedy and they would prefer to keep both sides of the commission "in house", so before any new listing is posted to a site like LoopNet, Costar or Crexi, it is passed internally to every other broker in the office and then within the intranet for that company, to see if anyone has a party to do the deal with.

It's possible that they heard a little bit too much from the fair housing commission and are now considered a "professional tenant"Usually these people will not listen keep withholding payment, and take advantage of the system as much as possible.

That doesn't really matchup with what the IRS says regarding commission rebates.Even if I have the commission on a 1099....if I rebated that commission to a client I know I can deduct that rebate as an expense.
