People are unreal.....The smell would not dissipate, so I finally asked the drywall guys to re-trowel/re-mud the entire house, walls and ceilings...it cost thousands, but it finally got rid of the smell....So just be patient.....

How much does floor one want for the damage.A hole in the ceiling with Spackle, the splatter finish matched (possibly whole room ceiling re splattered), then a primer and paint; or just water discoloration remediation?

For a 'lighter" rehab/renovation work I would consider: new paint, fixtures, new lighting (i.e. ceiling fans), and perhaps some new flooring in certain locations.

I was required to add exit signs in the shared hallways / stairs, and to add interconnected heat detectors in all units, and to upgrade all smokes in all units to be hardwired, and to create 1-hour fire separations between the three units, which we accomplished by painting the ceilings and walls shared with stairwells/common halls with intumescent paint.

The entire dropped ceiling is being replaced with new tiles and the metal brackets holding the ceiling are being painted white instead of the off white they currently are.

The most common place I see KT left untouched are ceilings on the first floor where it would be hard to wish new wire easily.

Before moving into the property, I updated all of the fixtures that was outdated: ceiling fans, painted walls, light switch covers, outlet covers, added carpet to the basement, and updated the HVAC.
