You can usually find some events by doing a simple google search.

There are multiple billion dollar companies dumping money into the city, such as Intel, Google, Honda, and Amazon.

This way, you don't have to start from scratch every time.If you want to get on buyer lists, Google "we buy houses" and "cash home buyers" plus your city name. 

They're publicly available via a quick google search.

I created a Google form that has the real estate activity listed in the column and the number of hours spent on each task in the row.

You can use it as a RE investing 'google' search to find past forum posts that match up with any keywords of interest i.e.
