With the amount of people that have expressed interest in investing in RE with me (and I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed), I am starting to think it might be the way to go.

Will it be a permanent structure with all the usual connections (water, electric, sewer, etc.) or will it be viewed as a secondary dwelling like a shed or garage?

According to IHA you can not rent out an extra shed or anything that is "real property".  

@Brandon Hall, can you shed any light on this subject?

Obviously if someone was more established and say, moved to the bay area, that would be a different story.Can anyone shed light on this process, since we are only referring to people who will likely have minimum down payments?
