Most big banks will not allow this especially for regular personal checking accounts BUT you can actually find smaller banks in your area that should accommodate this.

The law requires you to make a "reasonable accommodation" to your policy.

For example, in some parts of the State of CA there are zoning for multi-family, group housing for agriculture purposes, recreation-related housing, visitor accommodation, RV parks, mobile home parks, and other zoning that could be used very creatively.Good luck!!

The rehab included a complete demo to the brick and studs and a redesign of the layout to accommodate two 2-bed/1-bath units.

Once I get a "promising" candidate I continue to show but slow it down a little.I become less accommodating on showing the property not only because I don't want to waste my time but also their time knowing it's sorta kinda spoken for.However, they can change their mind just like that...so, I continue to show it but I push the showing schedule out a bit.

When you have a good tenant in place, listen to their needs and be flexible enough to accommodate reasonable requests.
