The city is so big, but we have a unique culture of sharing here and I think you can safely keep the 25k in your pocket to invest vs giving it to some guru to help you find your next deal, etc. 

I have found alot of the VAs are doing it for the lifestyle, where although I have issues with English to some degree it's mostly cultural terminology that is the obstacle but I have people working extra hard to feed their family.

Sacramento might be emerging in some cool ways- It's close(ish) to Portland, where I am as well, and has a great culture with reasonable prices.

One thing he did say was that he could paint over anything:  granite, cultured marble, tile, even bathtubs.  

I doubt the high-minded justify their 'necessary' backpacking trip around Thailand or their European jaunt to become more cultured. 

Great weather, booming economy, nice restaurant, diversity, great culture.

YUP fully guided tour eat there its a culture unto its own that's for sure.. lots of super sharp kids walking around there with their dogs and playing Volleyball :)
