Overall the experience was a major low point in my life, but it caused me to develop many necessary habits that have led to the success of other ventures.

Sometimes people don't know because the atmosphere they are venturing into is so negatively charged (by comments) that they are afraid that someone will embarrass them with a negative response, when all they are trying to do is learn. 

Getting Engaged - do a joint venture on ONE SINGLE deal and see how much you like each other3.

I'd venture to say that for 95% of the investors I've met, their LLCs would be completely worthless if they were to be used.
