STR is best suited at the moment for more of your higher end properties 750k+ from what we've seen in the market unless you get a unicorn deal.

There may be a PM organization you can file a complaint with but only a lawyer could tell you if a suit against the PM makes sense.

In the event there's a defect, are you going to file suit against yourself?

I use mine for storage of beach toys, drying rack for swim suits, storage of extra supplies and on occasion it’s an extra parking space.  

So while I'm not personally invested in other areas of real estate, I have been around it for years.As for why it appeals to me - well, I have some capital which I think could be better suited in private lending.

Depending how they are done (eg suite in a home vs an entire house), they do take away housing for the locals. 

It involves the fact that the taxing authority and the law firm that they have contracted with to handle the tax suits just do not identify all of the owners who are entitled to be notified that the property is being foreclosed on.Tax sales are usually a mess.The tax deed itself even says that it does not even claim that the property exists, as well as not guaranteeing that you are receiving title.The only way you can be safe is to have a title company do a title search for you.I hope this helps.Good Luck.Michael Lantrip.

The apps you're referring to are suited for hand-outs and entry level project starting points - not for official purposes - unless they can be imported into actual CAD software and manipulated (".dwg" files).
