I'm of course bias, but that's one reason why I moved from SoCal to Reno, NV (because of the favorable tenant/landlord laws).

The Fair Housing Act is what applies to privately owned property (with the exceptions Bruce listed above) and it forbids discrimination against prospective tenants because of their disability as well as race, religion, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), skin color, familial status, and national origin. 

@Matt HubertI’m a bit bias but I like Tampa because we have 3 pro sports teams, big concerts and festivals, gulf beaches, spring break/spring training, and two downtowns (Tampa and Saint Pete) so there is a lot of draw to the area besides one thing.

I'm very biased to the "Old Florida" feel.

The mechanics of the deal are not too complicated, although as others have noted you can't advertise the property and then exclude people based on protected class including gender and family status....at least not legally. 

I'm clearly biased though lol.

heheI'm bias and have always loved Toledo.In all honesty, bit of a boring place and market.Not much to do for someone like me.Granted, growing up in Sydney, Australia and then moving to Toledo, Ohio is more than just a culture shock hehe.Who said you have to "live, where you invest" anyway?

I'm bias to the SD market, hugely because of appreciation, and wealth creation through home equity, and I know it better than any other city.

Again, less than 10% of Americans go FSBO - and I don't think it's because they're lazy.Yes I'm a realtor so I'm showing a bit of my own bias.....but every year I've also given advice and helped homeowners who wish to sell their homes by themselves.
