My thought is to take a compiled list of property addresses saved in Excel and then run data scrape from Zillow and Redfin on each of those addresses, pulling the property details back into excel and into the appropriate table I have set up. 

When I listed concerns of flagrant lease violations, gone unchecked (derelict vehicles, unregistered large breed dogs who are not picked up after, garbage scattered out in the yard, piles of debris; old tires, tv, kitchen sink, broken wheel barrow, all sitting out in plain sight for a month or more), wash machine drain hose running out a window and draining into the lawn.

I don’t have any horror stories but every time I go to run a check the cost has gone up.

Comparing just those two things, you would save way more money in the long run by avoiding the annual mortgage interest.

Next, run the potential income against construction costs for adding up to four more stories to the building.
