I have owned it for a very long time and had depreciated most of the original purchase price. 

I purchased a 3 family in Newark NJ in March of this year, and am curious about looking into this form of insurance as a way to further protect myself. 

Purchase price: $417,500 Cash invested: $37,575 Technically a single family by zoning, though set-up to be a duplex, with 3 beds and 2 baths per unit.

Most do not purchase properties, and that is by design. 

I used bank/credit union mortgages for 80% to 97% of purchase prices.
