While I don't have kids, I have a full time job, husband with a demanding career in the navy (so I do alot with his career), managing 11 houses, and launching a blog!

There are still areas where deals are to be found, but warehouse district, french quarter and marigny/bywater areas are at a premium.

At work, colleagues often refer to me as "That overzealous real estate French guy...".

Hi all, My partner and I went to set up our business bank account nearby where he lives (Harford, MD 21085), at the Navy Credit Federal Union but due to technical reasons (me being a partner and no longer being in the military or other Dept. of Defense job), we weren't eligible to do so there.

My older brother in the navy got me interested in rental properties.

The budget went over by 15% from $40K to $47K (he wanted $48,500) due to rotted beams under 3 bedrooms, the entire wall from bathroom to kitchen to back door needed to be replaced (drywall not frame, plus all new siding, plus partial french drain). 

Was told that it is likely that we need to build underground french or storm drains.
