It had refinished hardwood floors, new paint, all appliances other than fridge, new lighting fixtures, and only needed to carpet removed from the living room to make it completely move in ready.

A better comparison would be between two general contractor's estimates, with a well articulated idea of what your finishes are (carpet vs. hardwood).Bottom line is there is a lot that goes into these estimates, and the more you get, the better you are.

A major change in garage would warrant some sort of "sorry".I plan on leveraging this dissatisfaction, coupled with the fact that there is a significant loss of grass area to attempt to either overall housing cost, refund of a portion of whats in escrow or to upgrade the second floor to match the first with respect hardwood flooring.

Everything in the northeast is hardwood and carpet with tile only being in kitchen areas (and even then hardwood is often prevalent) ย In florida, tile is EVERYWHERE. ย

Another house that I own has an unfinished basement and I wanted to know what would be a reasonble budget per sq ft if I want hardwood floors that look good but have the lowest price possible and then finish the walls and separate teh basement in a couple of rooms.

We have put down vinyl planks in an entry way and in a unit that had ย painted hardwood floors and have been happy with the flooring so far and plan to use it on everything else in the future. ย
