@Marisa Rowe I would assume you have to be pretty close to this number after reading all of your various post about being a globe trotting, multi-continental developer and flipper?

Once I got them out and cleaned and painted and hung new blinds and replaces light globes, it was a pretty decent place.

Watching your savings grow is exciting, cause you know you are getting closer to investing in RE.No matter how much you save per month, whether it is $200.00 a month or $20.00 a month , the golden key is the DISCIPLINE in saving religiously and consistently.

You have a golden opportunity take advantage of it.

As far as shaming him publicly, remember the golden rule “ Do onto others as you would want them to do to you”.

Also he has seen people work like crazy to grow a business for 30 years to sell it off and enjoy the golden years.

But it's not true to insinuate that only that golden needle in a haystack landlord can succeed in lower-income neighborhoods. 

The golden days of the DMV are gone (in my opinion).TL;DR: In summary, DC area flat out stinks in comparison to what I'm experiencing here in Vegas (both in terms of appreciation and rent to value% ). 

Follow the "golden rule" of X % equities/ Y % bonds as you get closer to retirement.
