In 2023, I got quite a few home improvements and maintenance work done on the primary home such as brand new solar panels (Jan 2023), a new large storage shed, attic insulation replacement, new attic fan, renovated garage, new epoxy flooring in the garage, new exterior paint etc.I am planning to claim 30% tax credit on my 2023 tax return.Second Home: Purchased in all cash since financing was not available due to the condition of the house.

Hi @David Gershenfeld, I was just back in Pittsburgh a few months ago presenting on a panel discussing 1031 Exchange transactions.

In the garage are the furnace and hot water heater as well as an electrical panel and emergency generator.

Right now the plan has  PAC-CLAD ACM PANEL all over, which I think is overkill, the facade definitely, its beautiful, but I think the architect used way to much.

Planning desk will tell you what is needed, get a contractor to cost it out because it is not just getting another panel, you might need to bring wiring up to code, and plumbing??? 

Depends on: what city or county planning desk thinks; was the construction done to code; does the addition appear visibly to code; electric panel up to date; unit has heat...Garage conversion is not an ADU per se.How old is the subject?

If you're upgrading to 200amp panel the odds are against you.

I thought @Tina Sandoval did a great job on the panel.
