Adding that piece of land to our own would bring our property into better alignment with zoning rules, provide some outside storage that we don't have otherwise, and also correct a historical error- anyone looking at our property can plainly see that the barn is supposed to go with the house.Since they have been unwilling to sell to some friendly neighbors, I'm trying to find a way to get the land that I want through her sale.

@Steve Vaughn.....you're house languished on MLS and didn't sell for months on end because it was overpriced....plain and simple.Any house will sell if it's priced right to start with.Most times it's not the agent's fault. 

Plain language is fine as long as it is clear to both parties.

Either I am just really naive, or plain crazy, but I think the flex warehouse market is great.

Maybe not reliable in the pay out department or just plain green and unreasonable. 

I would go with just a plain white mirror.

Came across this nice matrix which spells out conventional loan requirements in plain English.  

The plain and simple version in Seattle is that a MIL does not have a stove and cannot be rented separately from the main home unless the owner is occupying, and an ADU does have a stove and can be rented separately from the main home.

Also consider that this is the advice my attorney gave me, and it's possible that he's more conservative than other attorneys or even that he's just plain wrong...but if asset protection is something that you're concerned with, I'd recommend considering this issue very carefully and perhaps consulting with your own attorney.
