I have found that it never hurts to start out by calling their bluff. 

And tell her it's a real shame she decided you aren't on friendly terms anymore.She's being a bully now, and the best way to deal with a bully is to call their bluff. 

We are now working on the kitchen, we plan on painting the cabinets white as they are still in good condition, we just don’t like the orange/golden oak look, will also be adding hardware and backsplash.
