This, apparently, was an absurd request because all of the sudden the ‘director’ got super aggressive stating that if I don’t sign immediately then I’m not committed to my success and don’t really want it as much as I said I do, that if I don’t sign now, it shows them that I’m not serious, can’t make big decisions by myself, that I’m not the guy they thought I was, and that they’ll have to rescind my acceptance (which they did).

I ransacked the internet and found my home address listed as active/available to show" the listing was published Jan7th and the went inactive/unavailable/expire listing on the date FEB 5th and the request to show the townhome was FEB 6TH  SAhe did the inspection the week prior and likely report the townhome almost move in ready to the landlor and then suddenly my inspection guy that did my "move-out-inpection" was in their for a second opinion and the her property management said "oh that was not your move-out inspection.

Account ClosedThere’s no correct answer to this, just having a discussion.There are pros and cons points and counter-points to every perspective.It appears your preference for REITs is more about liquidity issues than vetting issues, which I understand.I would suggest illiquidity can be an advantage as it prevents investors from making sudden moves when times get bad.
