I went to a free guru seminar where the speaker was invoking Dodd Frank by saying that it regulated what assets a bank could hold.Specifically, he said that Dodd Frank prevented a bank from owning tax liens (and other property, but this was a tax lien specific seminar) that were about to convert to lapse.

I know that they have other guest speakers, lenders, attorneys, CPAs, insurance broker/agents, so what I'd do (if I were you) would be to look at these clubs as a means to network and get local information when they had professional guest speakers.

I'll admit, I got sucked in, but only paid $97 for the 3-day workshop, which was useless because the speaker/trainer (yea right) that spoke at this workshop talked soooo fast that you couldn't even take notes.

If we go this route  I would hope that everyone would be willing to bring their progress to future meetings so others can learn from it and bring in other speakers that have just done a deal and are willing to share their numbers.

Most have networking before the event starts, then some business before the main program, such as introductions or deal exchange, and then a speaker, and then more networking.

Now there are always bills that need to be paid for such an event so there will be some sales, but we are limiting the number of speakers selling.
