You’ll fight to get them to pay for even small things. 

I just know that if you have to fight the Historic Preservation Commission you have to be very careful.  

Building in a downtown area typically involves privacy fencing the entire site, permits for road blockages, fights with neighbors over port-a-potties, and difficulty with noise ordinances. 

I was mowing the lawn, chasing contractors, fighting with the window company.

It's the first rung on the homeownership ladder, and folks who could previously afford $400k in a 4% interest rate environment, are now having to fight over a basic bungalow.
