There's a lot of ways, just need to look at your overall financial picture and where your money is going and focus on the trouble spots.

You may have water traveling down the bedroom wall, then across the dining room ceiling to the lowest spot which happens to be there.

I don't know her story but it is possible she has a history of being scammed which is why she spends so much effort in spotting scams. 

exactly Chris Clothier made a good point on another thread where his opinion is any cash flow first should go into reserves once reserves is in a good spot the remaining cash flow should go to principal paydown..
